Paxi’s Cosmic Art Contest: Rockets

Paxi’s Cosmic Art Contest: Rockets

Hi friends, it’s your favourite alien space explorer Paxi here!

Whenever I see a rocket launch, I can’t help but imagine all the exciting adventures that await it in space. What’s inside it? How does it reach space?

Did you know that ‘Rocket Revolution’ is the theme of this year’s World Space Week, from 4 to 10 October? And guess what? Rockets are also the theme of this month’s Cosmic Art Contest!

ESA has been developing rockets for many years. Back in 1979, the first Ariane rocket, Ariane 1, was launched. Since then, European rockets have continued to evolve, with launchers such as Ariane 6 and Vega-C carrying missions into space today.

Rockets open the door to amazing adventures in space. When a rocket lifts off, its engines roar. They create a huge push that sends the rocket into the sky and helps it overcome the pull of Earth’s gravity. Rockets carry satellites that help you look at your beautiful planet from above, spacecraft that explore distant worlds, and even astronauts on their journeys beyond Earth. Pretty amazing, isn’t it?

Why not show off your love of rockets by making your own rocket-inspired artwork? You could build a model of a rocket with a unique pattern or create a drawing of a rocket zooming off on a daring journey into space. The possibilities are endless!

Theme: Rockets
Deadline: 31 October 2026
