Op 20 en 21 mei 2024 kwamen 17 \u201eClimate Detective\u201c-teams \u2013 die elk een land uit heel Europa vertegenwoordigden \u2013 bijeen voor een ongelooflijk leer- en feestevenement, dat plaatsvond in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.esa.int\/About_Us\/ESRIN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Het Europees Ruimteonderzoeksinstituut van de ESA<\/a>\u00a0(ESRIN) in Frascati, Itali\u00eb \u2013 het centrum voor aardobservatie!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\" data-width=\"2000\" data-credit=\"ESA\" data-detail-url=\"https:\/\/www.esa.int\/ESA_Multimedia\/Images\/2024\/05\/Poster_session_at_the_Climate_Detectives_Learning_and_Celebration_Event_2024\" data-licence=\"ESA Standard Licence\" data-licence-url=\"https:\/\/www.esa.int\/ESA_Multimedia\/Terms_and_conditions_of_use_of_images_and_videos_available_on_the_esa_website\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"max-width:100%;height:auto\" src=\"https:\/\/www.esa.int\/var\/esa\/storage\/images\/esa_multimedia\/images\/2024\/05\/poster_session_at_the_climate_detectives_learning_and_celebration_event_2024\/26105869-5-eng-GB\/Poster_session_at_the_Climate_Detectives_Learning_and_Celebration_Event_2024.jpg\" alt=\"Student teams got a chance to present their projects for the Climate Detectives 2023\/2024 edition during a poster session at the Learning and Celebration Event 2024\"><figcaption>De aanwezige leerlingen waren tussen de 12 en 19 jaar oud en hadden allemaal een Climate Detectives-project afgerond. Ze onderzochten een klimaat- of milieukwestie en gebruikten daarvoor echte satellietbeelden of verzamelden zelfs hun eigen gegevens. Hier zijn drie voorbeelden:<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>De deelnemende leerlingen waren tussen de 12 en 19 jaar oud en hadden allemaal een \u2018Climate Detectives\u2019-project afgerond. Zij deden onderzoek naar een klimaat- of milieukwestie en maakten daarbij gebruik van echte satellietbeelden of verzamelden zelfs hun eigen gegevens. Hier volgen drie voorbeelden:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Het Gymn\u00e1zium Po\u0161tov\u00e1 9 team uit Slowakije mat de luchtkwaliteit in nabijgelegen steden en op het platteland, en deelde idee\u00ebn om het gebruik van hernieuwbare energiebronnen te vergroten.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Klimaatdetectives van IES El Torrell\u00f3 in Spanje maakten gebruik van <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esa.int\/kids\/en\/learn\/Earth\/Climate_change\/Europe_s_space_Sentinels\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sentinel-2-satelliet<\/a> gegevens om de gevolgen van branden en hevige regenval te onderzoeken, en bedachten verschillende manieren om hun lokale gemeenschappen te helpen beschermen.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Leerlingen van Ecole Sainte-Sophie de Luxembourg onderzochten afval in de oceanen en voerden een slim experiment uit om te zien hoe plastic afbreekt in water.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\" data-width=\"2000\" data-credit=\"ESA\" data-detail-url=\"https:\/\/www.esa.int\/ESA_Multimedia\/Images\/2024\/05\/Workshops_for_the_Climate_Detectives_at_ESRIN_2024\" data-licence=\"ESA Standard Licence\" data-licence-url=\"https:\/\/www.esa.int\/ESA_Multimedia\/Terms_and_conditions_of_use_of_images_and_videos_available_on_the_esa_website\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"max-width:100%;height:auto\" src=\"https:\/\/www.esa.int\/var\/esa\/storage\/images\/esa_multimedia\/images\/2024\/05\/workshops_for_the_climate_detectives_at_esrin_2024\/26106168-3-eng-GB\/Workshops_for_the_Climate_Detectives_at_ESRIN_2024.jpg\" alt=\"Students learned more about Earth observation, importance of satellites, and how to use satellite data during hands-on workshops at the Climate Detectives Learning and Celebration Event 2024.\"><figcaption>Tijdens praktische workshops op het \u2018Climate Detectives Learning and Celebration Event 2024\u2019 hebben de leerlingen meer geleerd over aardobservatie, het belang van satellieten en het gebruik van satellietgegevens.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Het Climate Detectives Learning and Celebration Event 2024 stond in het teken van erkenning voor het harde werk en de prestaties van de Climate Detectives. Ze genoten van inspirerende presentaties en fascinerende hands-on workshops over aardwetenschappen en hadden interactie met aarddeskundigen van ESA. Ze leerden over het aardobservatieprogramma van ESA en konden zelfs de \u03a6-Experience bezoeken, een speciale ruimte met unieke soundscapes en interactieve displays!\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Van harte gefeliciteerd aan alle leerlingen die in 2023-2024 hebben deelgenomen aan het project \u2018Climate Detectives\u2019 en ons daarmee hebben geholpen meer te leren over onze prachtige planeet.
