Dnes stejnou trasu proplouvaj\u00ed tis\u00edce lod\u00ed, ani\u017e by do\u0161lo ke ztr\u00e1t\u00e1m na \u017eivotech \u2013 a pom\u00e1haj\u00ed jim v tom satelity.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Frederick Fleet m\u011bl v noci ze 14. na 15. dubna 1912 na lodi Titanic na starosti hl\u00eddku. Informace o ledu, kter\u00e9 Frederick poskytl, byly jedin\u00fdmi \u00fadaji, kter\u00e9 m\u011bl kapit\u00e1n Edward John Smith k dispozici pro navigaci lodi v t\u011bchto nebezpe\u010dn\u00fdch vod\u00e1ch.<\/p>\n<p>Jedn\u00edm z nejd\u016fle\u017eit\u011bj\u0161\u00edch d\u016fsledk\u016f katastrofy Titanicu bylo zv\u00fd\u0161en\u00ed bezpe\u010dnosti n\u00e1mo\u0159n\u00ed plavby, k \u010demu\u017e p\u0159isp\u011blo p\u0159ijet\u00ed Mezin\u00e1rodn\u00ed \u00famluvy o bezpe\u010dnosti lidsk\u00e9ho \u017eivota na mo\u0159i a z\u0159\u00edzen\u00ed Mezin\u00e1rodn\u00ed ledov\u00e9 hl\u00eddky (IIP).<\/p>\n<p>\u00dakolem ledov\u00e9 hl\u00eddky je sledovat ledovce a vymezit oblast ohro\u017een\u00ed ledovci. Ve vod\u00e1ch Arktidy se m\u016f\u017ee kdykoli nach\u00e1zet tis\u00edce ledovc\u016f. \u00dakolem ledov\u00e9 hl\u00eddky je ur\u010dit po\u010det ledovc\u016f, kter\u00e9 budou un\u00e1\u0161eny na jih sm\u011brem k lodn\u00edm tras\u00e1m. Dnes je leteck\u00fd pr\u016fzkum hlavn\u00ed pou\u017e\u00edvanou metodou, av\u0161ak projekt IIP si klade za c\u00edl nahradit n\u00e1kladn\u00e9 leteck\u00e9 lety nad ledem satelitn\u00edm pozorov\u00e1n\u00edm.<\/p>\n<p>V sou\u010dasn\u00e9 dob\u011b vyu\u017e\u00edv\u00e1 Ledov\u00e1 hl\u00eddka radarov\u00e1 pozorov\u00e1n\u00ed ze satelit\u016f jako dopln\u011bk leteck\u00fdch pozorov\u00e1n\u00ed.
